Of Delays and Derechos

I was out of town on a family visit last week, and we came home to the aftermath of the DC derecho, a crazy sideways tornado storm that battered much of the east, including sunny Maryland where my wife and I live.

Much of the DC region lost power, and many of us couldn’t find it again for days. Here’s a little map of the service area. You see that one little red dot around Laurel?

Hilarious.

Yeah… guess where we live.

At any rate, hard-working crews from all over the place finally put us right again last night. Thanks, guys and gals! A/C is great, I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a working fridge again.

Wherever you are, I hope you’ve got power and food and all the comforts you desire.
