2012 is for Explosions

I hope you had a wonderful Xmas, if you celebrate Xmas.  Remember those sweet simple holiday times, because the new year is going to be full of explosions.

So sayeth the Mayans.  And just like that old saw about not trusting recipes from skinny cooks, who do you think should be considered a reliable authority on apocalyptic events? People who vanished from the face of the planet.

Of course, their calendar might end in 2012 because that’s when the length of one cycle is reached, with a new cycle to start again the subsequent year after a totally rockin’ party.  But I can understand how, to western minds, the notion of marking the end of a regular interval of time on your calendar with a party is completely foreign.
